“BJ is our 5 ½ year old Golden Retriever” says Jo Heiser as she looks lovingly at her beautiful dog. “My husband, Bill, and I have had him since he was only 8 weeks old and he is our third Golden Retriever over a 25 year span.  I guess we love them!  He is a dark liver color and, if you see him at the park during morning hours, is the big red Golden (he weighs 83 pounds) walking around with two tennis balls in his mouth.
 
He is usually not interested in other dogs unless they want his tennis balls and he warns them with a growl to stay away. At home, though, he has a huge toy box and plays with every one of them, even having a toy parrot that “talks” and BJ knows how to make him talk, too. He “walks” us on his leash every day and is quite a character. I am happy to say he is spoiled rotten and we would not have it any other way. 
 
BJ has skin allergies and takes a medication that causes his fur grow and curl.  He is also afraid of loud noises particularly those of fireworks and we don’t know the reason for this fear.
 
He has a very loving temperament and is really good with children, including our grandchildren and neighbors.  BJ is a wonderful member of our family".
